These statistics were presented at the January 21 Police Board meeting and community members are invited to review the full report.

Police appeal for information following reported sex assault

On February 9 at approximately 1:20 am the victim called police for help and shared that a man sexually assaulted her inside his vehicle after he had offered her a ride in the 500 block of 6th Street. New Westminster Police Department officers are now appealing to the public to help them identify the suspect in the hopes of furthering their investigation.

Arrest made after police receive a call about a student with a knife

Police officers provided verbal de-escalation techniques in the hopes the suspect could be safely taken into custody, however, the suspect did not comply.
