New Westminster – Erica, who was reported missing on March 2, has been safely located by police and is now receiving care.
She was found thanks to an observant citizen who recognized Erica from New Westminster Police Department communications and immediately called 9-1-1. Officers located her on March 6. Erica’s family and friends have requested privacy at this time.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to the alert citizen who follows our NWPD social media channels, recognized Erica, and took quick action by calling 9-1-1,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “This is yet another example of police and the public working together to keep people safe.”
The New Westminster Police Department would also like to acknowledge the many specialized units involved in the search for Erica, including front line patrol officers, the Major Crime Unit, the Criminal Intelligence Unit, the Specialized Investigations Unit, the Street Crime Unit, the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, and the BC RCMP.
