New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred on April 3 at approximately 11:40 am. The collision occurred on Cumberland Street and East 7th Avenue. BC Emergency Health Services Paramedics transported one person to hospital with what appeared at the time to be non-life threatening injuries; however, two days later, investigators learned that person had died. All the contributing factors of this incident are still under investigation.
“Our Major Crime Unit has taken conduct of this investigation,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “This is a tragic event and our thoughts are with the family of this individual.”
