Update – Crews have repaired the gas line and traffic is open along 6th Street. Thank you for your patience.
New Westminster – New Westminster Police Department officers have closed 6th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue due to a gas line damage.
Crews are on scene and it is anticipated the road will remain closed for several hours. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
Officers thank residents and motorists for their patience. An update will be made once 6th Street has reopened.
